If you have been hiding your smile because of teeth that are discolored, misaligned or chipped, now is the time to consider the benefits of veneer surgery. This wonderful surgery has been giving many individuals the opportunity to walk through life with a beautiful, confident smile. At Ted French, DDS, we specialize in this surgery and can answer your questions and assist you in making the right decision. Below is a brief summary of the process that is typically involved when preparing for surgery:
The first visit to our office will generally be a consultation. This visit is important and requires your active participation as we expect you to tell us what you are hoping to achieve by having veneer surgery. Our DFW area dentist office will also be actively involved as we examine your teeth and possibly take x-rays and make impressions of your teeth and/or mouth.
The next step consists of preparing your tooth for a veneer. We will shave off a minimal amount of your tooth that is equal to the amount of the veneer that is replacing it. Before trimming any of your teeth, we will decide together on a local anesthetic to help keep you comfortable. Finally, we will take an impression of your tooth and send it off to a dental lab that will construct the veneer.
3. Veneer Application
The final step of surgery involves permanently cementing the veneer to your tooth. Before the veneer is applied, your tooth will be properly cleaned. The veneer will then be applied temporarily to examine fit and color. We will make adjustments and trim the veneer as necessary to ensure a proper fit. Once the proper fit is found, we will permanently cement the veneer to your tooth.
As you can see, veneer surgery is an easy process that will allow you to smile with confidence again. Contact the office of Ted French, DDS today at (817) 461-2843 to find out more information. We look forward to serving you.
